Four-wheelin' is a thrilling pastime, but it is not without its hazards.

Rollovers, river washouts, and winch mishaps are all potentially perilous situations we hope to never experience, but are always prepared for by packing our rig with the right equipment.

And there's no survival tool that says "good enough for me" more than one designed by special operatives who need gear that never fails regardless of the mission. Benchmade's Nim Cub II is one such tool. This compact fixed blade was designed in collaboration with elite military airborne personnel, who worked with Benchmade to ensure this knife's specs, materials, and features live up to their standards.

After our non-scientific tests, we're certain the Nim Cub II is an outstanding survival tool for any outdoor adventure. You can use it for almost any circumstance, from slicing a burst heater hose and pushing down your Schrader valve pin to cutting down branches for firewood and using it during hunting expeditions.

Because, really, if the Nim Cub II is good enough for U.S. airborne warriors who drop into enemy territory and stake their lives on their tools, it's more than good enough for us.

Razor's Edge
The modified tanto blade is sharp. Very sharp. Plus, it's made from 154CM premium stainless steel, meaning it offers fantastic edge retention, corrosion resistance, and strength. This is the kind of blade that you can always depend on in a pinch.

Get a Grip
Lightweight yet strong, the handle is made of Noryl GTX - a modern engineered plastic that's resistant to impact, heat, and chemicals. In other words, it's tough as nails. The deep finger guard, textured surface, and a row of thumb grooves ensure a secured, anti-slip grip. However, due to the Nim Cub II's compact nature, users with meaty hands might find the handle a tad short.

At Your Side
The Nim Cub II comes with a fitted sheath, which is ambidextrous for righties and lefties alike. This molded-nylon, friction-fit scabbard also has a secondary snap closure to ensure the knife comes out only when you want it to.
