The FJ40, the classic '60s off-roader, is reborn at last more than 20 years after Toyota stopped production of this rugged, reliable, and beloved four-wheeler. FJ fans can now fall in love all over again with the new version, the '07 FJ Cruiser.
Newly released by Motorbooks, Toyota FJ Cruiser is an up-close, behind-the-scenes look at the development and production of this new off-road dynamo that is currently barreling in and out of showrooms. From the development of the very first FJs in the late '50s to the present-day incarnation, author Larry Edsall highlights Toyota's efforts to create a completely modern off-roader ready for any on- or off-pavement challenge.
The book includes more than 150 color photos and design drawings, as well interviews and insight from the key designers, engineers, and executives involved in the FJ Cruiser's legacy.
